Meet Lauran!
Lauran Pancoast
Director of Early Childhood Education, Programming and Operations
Lauran Pancoast, our Director of Early Childhood Education, joined TCS in July 2019. Lauran holds a Bachelor's degree in Cultural Studies from Purchase College and a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Hunter College in New York. She spent nine years at the renowned Jewish Community Project (JCP) of downtown Manhattan where she developed a deep respect and love for Judaism and Jewish education working as a lead teacher in both three and four year old classrooms. Later, she moved into an administrative role both as the Education and Curriculum Coordinator working with teachers to develop age-appropriate and need-based curriculum in their classrooms and as the Ex-missions Coordinator assisting graduating families through the process of enrolling in NYC public and private ongoing schools.
Once relocated in CT, Lauran joined the teaching staff at Schaghticoke Elementary School as a Literacy and Reading Interventionist working with children in sixth-eighth grade. Additionally, she created her own parent advocacy group, which provided training workshops, hands-on practical strategies and activities to promote self-help skills, independence and positive behavior in children, and one-on-one support to facilitate child social and emotional growth in conflict resolution, problem solving skills and social interactions. Her references are stellar, and we feel fortunate to have found someone so highly qualified for this position.
Lauran lives in New Milford with her husband, Michael and their four children, Brayden(12), Simone (9), Ruby (7) and Layla (6).
