It’s hard to believe that TCS Preschool has just completed its eighth year! The school has certainly grown and developed, just as the children have. The preschool went through another Connecticut Licensing renewal and passed with flying colors.
Many thanks go to the Preschool Committee for all their support and hard work. The mission of the Preschool Committee is to serve and act to promote the best interests of the Preschool children, their families and the synagogue. The Committee provides support to the Preschool Director, reviews policy, and promotes the safety of the children, parents and staff. This year the committee’s title was modified a bit giving specific jobs and responsibilities. Thanks to all the members for jobs well done: * Co-Chair Nicole Bonn for her innovation and creativity this year; she was a wonderful cheerleader * Co-Chair Marji Kaplowitz for her support, organization and wonderful writing; she, too, was a great cheerleader
* Vice-Chair Debra Schussheim for keeping us organized, planning beautiful school photos and a much enjoyed Pajama Havdalah
* Fundraising Chair Heather Toll for all her hard work and dedication on our fundraising activities— the book fair, Challah club and stationery drive
* Holiday Chair, DeDe Guthartz for making our Hanukkah, Purim and Pesah celebrations enjoyable and fun for both children and parents
* Mitzvah Chair Cari Kaplan for organizing all the gifts for Birthday Buddies and assembling the craft kits for Mitzvah Day; she helped put a smile on the faces of many children in our extended community
* Social Chair Linda Sharkey for making sure everyone felt welcome and a part of the TCS Preschool; the beginning of the year coffees and Moms’ Night Out were well-attended and enjoyed by all
* Teacher Representative MariLynn Lewis for another year of dedicated service, representing the voice of our teachers
* Executive Vice President Ilene Frost, who served as our liaison to the TCS Executive Committee, for her generosity of commitment to the TCS Preschool, its families, and our mission
* All our parents for allowing us the privilege of caring for your children every day and for helping to make our school a special place
What a wonderful year it was! The children and their families participated and attended many celebrations throughout the year. Please contact me (454-4673 x183) if you would like to learn more about the upcoming 2008-09 school year and discuss openings in our classes.

We currently have limited availability in all TCS Preschool classes (2’s, 3’s, and 4’s). We are also accepting applications for One-der Play for children born in 2007 and their parents or caregivers.
