Dear Parents:
This past year has been filled with exciting learning opportunities for both you and your children, and we are looking forward to sharing another year of innovative educational experiences.
As part of our educational experience, each year we try to improve our educational system to provide the most energetic, experiential learning environment for our students. In evaluating and improving our educational system, we have consulted with our parent body, educational board and executive leadership to help us find the best approach to reach our goals.
Last year, in response to many requests of parents that we find an alternative system to our Sunday morning sign-up, we moved to an on-line registration system. This year we would like to take this one step further. In order for us to become more “Green” and provide an easier way to register your child/ren, we have created a site where you can pre-register and pay your Kehillah deposit on-line*. Using the site, http://fs10.formsite.com/tcs-westport/kehillah/index.html, a credit card deposit of $300 will be needed for this transaction. If you do not wish to register on-line:
- Forms can be downloaded using links above.
- Forms can be picked up from our Kehillah office at TCS.
- Forms can be emailed to you. Please send requests to rssupport@tcs-westport.org.
- Forms can be mailed to you by contacting our Kehillah office.
*Families that use our on-line registration will be asked to sign a paper copy of Kehillah releases before
the beginning of our new year.

Pre-Registration:
Beginning today, May 4th, until noon on Friday, May 21st, you can complete the pre-registration process on-line or you may drop off your completed registration packet at our Kehillah office. Please remember, we will need a non-refundable, non-transferable deposit in the amount of $300 per child; for families registering more than one child, writing one check with all of the deposits is acceptable. For information about confidential financial assistance, please read below.
Once all forms and deposits have been received and processed, you will receive a family code to register on-line.

On-Line Registration:
This year our on-line registration will open Sunday morning, May 23rd, at 8:00AM. Please follow the on-line guide you will receive together with your family code upon completing the pre-registration process.
- Email confirmation will be sent to each registered family by Monday, May 24th.
We will be notifying all students of their class assignments in mid-August. **********************************************************************************Please read the enclosed registration forms carefully. You will want to note the following:
- We need all students to re-register each year. We do not reserve space from a prior year.
- Before registering, please make sure that you are a member in good financial standing, with all prior bills paid in full. Please know that alternative payment arrangements can be made through the Synagogue Treasurer. Please call Joel Siegel (203) 227-7226 prior to registration to confidentially discuss your situation and the settling of any outstanding balances.
- We assign students to classes on a first-come, first-serve basis, while preserving the proper educational balance within classes and session.
- In the event that your requested day or time has been filled, we will be sure to notify you by phone. Please let us know if you wish to be placed on a waiting list; we will be happy to contact you if space becomes available.
- Registration is complete when we receive your deposit and all forms.
- Students are encouraged to request at least one friend in their class. We will do our best to honor requests, but please know that we are not able to guarantee that all requests will be honored.
- All students who plan to become a Bar or Bat Mitzvah with a ceremony through The Conservative Synagogue are expected to meet our educational requirements by being registered and attending an approved Jewish learning experience beginning in third grade and continuing through seventh grade. If you have any questions in this regard, please speak with Rabbi Wiederhorn.

Kehillah Tuition:
Due to the economic climate this year, we will not have final tuition fees set until our Board of Directors meets to vote on the budget in June. We are considering a range of options, from a zero percent increase to a four percent increase, yet we will do our best to minimize the increase in tuition. Please note that the tuition listed in the registration forms are last year’s number, and we will notify you when the final fees have been established after our June Board Meeting.
We look forward to seeing you in September, when we will introduce new ideas and exciting activities for you and your children. Our first day of school will be Sunday, September 12th. Please feel free to drop by the Kehillah office with your questions, concerns or ideas for our coming year.
Shalom,
Danny

Director of Education
- Please be aware that, although our on-line registration system has been created and tested for the purpose of registration, we have decided to designate a back-up, in-person registration date in the event of any unforeseen technological difficulties.
- If necessary, our back–up registration will take place on Sunday morning, June 6th, at 9:00AM at TCS.
