As a child becomes a Bar/Bat Mitzvah, he or she is welcomed into the congregation as an adult member of The Conservative Synagogue family. It is the philosophy of The Conservative Synagogue to celebrate this rite of passage with the entire community within the traditions of our regular Shabbat or Rosh Hodesh prayer service, with an aliyah and the customary honors available to an adult member of the Jewish community. Bar/Bat Mitzvah is a sacred passage toward an increased level of Jewish learning and responsibility. We hope it will be viewed as yet another step in a lifetime of Jewish study. Our goal is to help our children continue to grow in their awareness of the obligations and privileges of membership in the adult Jewish community. This milestone presents a wonderful opportunity for the entire family to gain an understanding of Judaism and how it can enhance our lives. We hope this experience will strengthen your connection with your Jewish heritage as well as with The Conservative Synagogue.
