Summer Book Group: Join us for an evening of discussion and dessert. Wednesday, July 16, 7:30 pm
David Liss' award winning first novel, A CONSPIRACY OF PAPER, is set in the first stock market crash in 1720's England. Benjamin Weaver, a retired Jewish boxer and proverbial black sheep, spends his days tracking debtors and thieves. His investigations lead to the unraveling of business secrets, family secrets, and dangerous liaisons in a world where Sephardic and Ashkenazi culture clashed and business dealings were for the conniving, the strong, and the rich. "It is a well-balanced, enlightening, exciting, and murderously captivating book. A CONSPIRACY OF PAPER is a no-(over)load fun(d) for everybody." All are welcome! Book Group will be hosted in a congregant’s home. Please RSVP to the synagogue office (454-4673); they will let you know the location.
