The Listening Room

Hazzan Robert Kieval returns to the Listening Room to share the music of master Hazzan Louis Danto z”l. Blessed with a gift for singing in the bel canto style, his was a voice unlike any other in the cantorial universe. Joining the program will be his widow, Ruhama Danto, as well as other colleagues and friends who will share personal recollections.

Join Cantor Bat-Ami Moses and special guest artists this winter for a delightful three-part series, “The Best of Jewish Broadway,” where Cantor Moses will bring her professional background and expertise from the “Broadway Bima” right to your living rooms!  One of the most prolific American Jewish composers and lyricists of our time, Pulitzer Prize-winner and eight-time Tony Award-winner, Stephen Sondheim is most known for his work in musical theater. He is known as one of the most important figures in the 20th-century musical theater and has been praised for having “reinvented the American musical” with shows that tackle unexpected themes with music and lyrics of unprecedented complexity and sophistication. Join Cantor Bat-Ami Moses and friends learning about and listening to some of your favorite songs from musicals such as West Side Story, Company, A Little Night Music, Sweeney Todd, and Sunday in the Park with George. Featuring Bruce Piper on the piano with special performances by Cantor Magda Fishman and Cantor David Berger.
